Her back hurts, her feet are swollen, she's hormonal, nauseous and tired. Any mom-to-be or woman who's experienced pregnancy knows how it feels! Sure, a baby shower gives you the opportunity to give useful gifts, clothes and supplies for the baby; but what about the mommy? Whether you're looking to buy something for the mom-to-be at the shower, after the child is born, or just to make her feel good, give a
gift for the mom-to-be that she'll appreciate and definitely deserves!
1. Spa Gift Certificate - This is perhaps the most popular, and most appreciated gift you can give to a woman (pregnant or not). Some spas specialize in prenatal massages, but you don't have to limit her to just that! The certificate can be used for or include a facial, manicure or pedicure too. And let's face it, if she's a mom already, she probably doesn't have as much time as she'd like to pamper herself. This gift is sure to help her relax and make her feel pretty again.
2. Gift Basket - You don't even have to go searching for one - just make your own! If you're a fan of DIY projects, then this is the gift you should give. Visit your local craft store and buy a large wicker basket (or a laundry basket that she can use later...use your imagination!) and start filling it up with items mommy can use. You can even brand the basket with a theme - perhaps a 'spa/relaxation' theme that's full of body scrubs, face masks, lotions, oils, candles, a robe and slippers, etc. We especially love this Mommy's Time Out Sleep Set (BLR-24MG502).
3. Babysitting - Give her mock coupons for a free night of babysitting so she can go out to dinner, run errands or just have some alone time. Create the mock coupons for other services as well, such as house cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping or running errands for her. Give her some of your free time to make up for the time she's lost. It'll relieve some of the stress off her back and she'll be extremely grateful!
4. Yoga - Prenatal yoga is a great way to stay in shape, relieve stress and keep you and your baby healthy. Not only does it help to keep up with exercise, but it also helps to prepare for the birthing process. Buy the mom-to-be yoga classes to help her relax. If this is a little out of your budget, you can purchase prenatal yoga DVDs. Buy a yoga mat she can use at home too and voila - a great gift idea.
5. Keepsakes - Give the mom-to-be something she can keep forever. Keepsakes can include anything from a pregnancy/baby scrapbook, photo frames, jewelry and more. Only you can decide what's right for the mom-to-be you're buying for, and whatever you buy her is sure to be treasured by her for many years to come.
